Kop fans aren't happy with new blue kit

LIVERPOOL'S new third kit has left red faces at Anfield - because it features a splash of blue.

Fans, furious at Everton's colour being used, flooded message boards and forums in protest yesterday after the club posted a picture of next season's second away shirt on their website.

Officials insist the blue piping on the kit is in fact cyan. But judging from the reaction, it certainly is not going to have fans flocking to snap up replicas when it goes on sale next month.

Influential fans group Empire Of The Kop found more than two-thirds would NOT dream of wearing it.

Supporter Craig Butler wrote: "Massive disaster, you have made us the laughing stock of the league in my and many others' eyes."

A club spokesman said: "This is not the first time we have had blue trim on our kit."
